Ragdoll’s Sucker v3.0

Sucker was designed by Ragdoll (Tumblr). This theme supports complete custom color themes, all post types, your avatar, re-blogging credits, and notes. It’s also pretty.

And Here is Sucker 3.0

All you Suckers can rejoice, cuz Sucker 3 is here for your pleasure. Sucker Theme has made a few cosmetic and under-the-hood changes to take advantage of new technologies, and to tantalize your viewers’ eyes:

  • Increased the font size to be more comparable to reading a book. This one will probably take some time to get used to, but trust me, you’re going to like it. (See Wilson Miner’s post, “Relative readability”, for reasoning.)
  • Added new Tumblr notes support.
  • Finally fudged the line-height style rules enough to appear more accurate (due to poor browser math) (I think). This should clear up some awkward white-space bugs under post titles and the like.
  • Made reblog credits a little bit more clear.

Download the source code for Sucker Theme 3.0. Install it by following these instructions.

As before, none of your posted content will be changed or deleted if you change your Tumblr’s theme. Follow this Tumblr to stay on top of future theme updates. Earlier versions of Sucker are no longer supported, so take advantage of the Creative Commons license if you encounter bugs.

Below this video, you can see how the reblog credits are displayed. They only appear when something has been reblogged.

The Debut of Sucker 2.5

Sucker Theme keeps on getting more and more hot. Sucker 2.5 now has a few more fixes and features without bogging down its open design:

  • Re-blog credits for both the person you reblogged from, and the original poster.
  • I gave the design a bit more visual contrast and color.
  • Other things behind the hood that the technical users should appreciate, including smaller code.

  • Note: None of your posted content will be changed or deleted if you change your Tumblr’s theme.
  • Note: Earlier versions of Sucker are no longer supported, so take advantage of the Creative Commons license if you encounter bugs.

Introducing Sucker Theme 2.0

Sucker has graduated elementary school and made some changes for the better. Most notably, the main bodies of text now wrap around the bottom of the title, photo, video, etc. and columns don’t get mixed around if, say, supporting text is omitted from a particular post.

Various other style inconsistencies have been fixed, as well.

Also, Sucker is now shared under a Creative Commons license. You see more at the very bottom of this page, so feel free to use, modify, expand upon, etc, assuming you follow the rules of the license.

Download the source for 2.0.

  • Note: If you’re new to this theme business, none of your content will be changed or deleted if you change your Tumblr’s theme.
  • Note: Sucker 1.1 is no longer supported (so take advantage of that Creative Commons license if you need to fix bugs), but you can still use the theme if you like it better.

Sucker Theme 1.1

I updated the theme slightly, increasing the bottom margin of the posts for better scanability. I also fixed a display bug with videos with long descriptions. You can update your theme to reflect these changes via the source link in the previous post, “How to Use Sucker on Your Tumblr”.
